GANAWENINDIWAG - Taking Care of Eachother

Ganawenindiwag, which means "taking care of eachother" is a cultural program that shares Anishinaabe cultural and traditional values to empower families with knowledge they can carry on to the future. 


We offer a wide variety of hands on activities which include:

  • Birch Bark Basket - Wiigwaasi-makak

  • Willow Basket - Oziisigobimizhii-makak

  • Deer Camp - Waawaashkeshi-gabeshi

  • Jingle Dress - Ziibaaska-iganagooday

  • Grass Dance - Maskosiw-niimi

  • Rabbit Snaring - Waabooz-agoodwagan

  • Moccassin Game -  Makazinataagewin

  • Hand Drum - Nining-deweigan

  • Harvest Wild Rice - Bawa'am Manoominikwe

  • Trapping - Dasoonagaan-awesiinh-ag

  • Fish Camp - Gigoonh-gabeshi

  • Lacrosse - Baga'adowe


Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be a TANF client

  • Must be a 477 client
